Education as it should be—Study Technology
At Delphi Academy, this know-how is referred to as Study Technology (Study Tech). It was developed by American author and educator L. Ron Hubbard to help students be able to truly understand what they study and use it in their lives. Study Tech in the Classroom In a Study Tech classroom, young students have a teacher knowledgeable about the barriers to learning and how to overcome them; they have a teacher who helps them know why they are studying something and then helps them learn it for themselves, all the while feeding their natural interest in learning. As a student flies along, advancing up the school levels, this benefit gets redoubled—he learns about Study Technology from his side of the learning equation. He learns how to spot and get learning obstacles out of his way. He learns how he can quickly get something he wants to know and be able to use it for himself. Better yet, he learns to expect that of himself as it gradually becomes second nature to him. Gaining more certainty in his use of Study Tech, a student naturally takes more responsibility to keep flying along in his studies. Add to that a teacher who is also trained in the Study Technology helping him through the tough spots and supplying extra challenge, and it becomes something pretty remarkable—an educational team. Real learning In the end, students who increasingly know and use Study Tech acquire the ability to study any subject effectively and independently and for their own use. It’s a powerful tool that gradually allows students to take genuine control of their own educations and, ultimately, their futures. Empowering students with an ability to study is an investment that pays off for a lifetime. It starts at an early age and just expands from there. |
